NPC
Occasionally while out exploring you might come across a Non Playable Character. This character can either be trying to help or attack your character in the thread. Each post the NPC makes will end with a dice roll. Usually this number will mean the general HP that the NPC has. If not, it will be listed in the thread what the number is being used for.
Generally the NPC is used by staff or an admin team to ensure it does not get over used. They will be used at random by using a number generator to choose the threads. However a member of the site may put in a request for a plot needed NPC, at that time staff will discuss and choose to either go forward with it or deny it.

Dice System Luckily for you the staff team has made the dice system easy for you to use! If you have encountered a NPC or situation all you have to do is enter in a simple code at the bottom of your post. Once you submit the post a dice will be rolled automatically with the code given and the number will be placed at the bottom of your post. For Fights:Every type of character will have a code for a roll based on the weapon skill they have chosen. Each class gives certain advantages during a roll for an attack. Ordinary have 75 hp during a fight.Fiend have 85 hp during a fight at dark.Fiend have 65 hp during a fight at day. - If your character is unarmed and ordinary simply copy and paste [*roll=Ord4*] to the bottom of your post and remove the two * *.
- If your character is a light user and ordinary simply copy and paste [*roll=Ord1*] to the bottom of your post and remove the two * *.
- If your character is a medium user and ordinary simply copy and paste [*roll=Ord2*] to the bottom of your post and remove the two * *
- If your character is a heavy user and ordinary simply copy and paste [*roll=Ord3*] to the bottom of your post and remove the two * *
- If your character is a Fiend and attempting during the night simply copy and paste [*roll=Fiendnight*] to the bottom of your post and remove the two * *
- If your character is a Fiend and attempting during the day simply copy and paste [*roll=Fiendday*] to the bottom of your post and remove the two * *
Now, a run down. If you are faced with a NPC that has engaged you in battle they will make a post with their roll at the bottom. This acts as their standing HP. You will post attempting your attack with your roll placed at the bottom. If your number is equal or higher than the foe, your attack is a success and the foe has been defeated. If your roll is of less value, the attack will still be made with the number deducting from the NPC total HP until one or the other has reached 0. for exp.: Bob is roaming in the scorchlands. NPC jumps out and wants to fight. NPC rolled a 16. Bob attempts to knock its head off with his stick. bob rolled a 3. the stick grazes the NPC head and his current health is now at 13. NPC attempts to bite bob. NPC rolled a 5. bob is bit, but barely. bob's new health is 70. bob swings his stick again. bob rolls a 13. Bob's blow defeats the NPC.
If you are faced with only a situation such as attempting to find or scavenge, a chance encounter, healing or any thing you might want or need a dice roll for, simple place [*roll=Fate*]. If you are responding to an encounter, you are a success if your roll is any number higher than the encounter number. exp: Bob is roaming around in the marsh. he has come across a makeshift house in a cave! He has a chance to find something useful inside! Chance Encounter has rolled a 33. Bob chooses to go in and rummage about. He tried his hand at fate and rolled a 21. Unfortunately bob did not find anything useful inside. credit to Dark Raveness of adoxography
