Plot
It came too soon, the end did. It started with the finding of an object in space. Eventually it grew near enough to be a concern. People became frantic and did all they could to prepare for the inevitable. Then, it happened. Everyone had so very little time to react. Most hid or took shelter where they could find it, but only one place was equip for such a disaster. Surprisingly it lay on a massive island. A single mountain range to cover it. It was beneath this mountain, far below, they built the bunker. It was meant for other things, but supposed to be indestructible. Those who thought ahead had filled it to the max, over the capacity it was meant to hold. The only problem, once the doors sealed shut- they would remain so for 200 years. Nothing would open them a moment before.
It was never meant to hold so many. A lot of them began to die off. Sickness ran rampant and food was becoming scarce. Human meat was becoming a frequent offering. Water, for some reason, was drying up. Unbeknownst to them, most bodies of waters were gone. The impact had destroyed the majority of half the planet. The blast from the impact creating a flatter, new surface. As if god had chose to erase everything and begin anew. Some managed to survive. Counting down days until they could leave. When eventually the doors slid open. Daylight was released inside. Some died instantly. Their bodies unable to withstand the light. Their systems had changed far too much.
Those that could and were brave enough left. Venturing to find what was left in the world, if anything. Those who could not or wished not to remained at the bunker and near it. The island becoming theirs to own. On the outside, however, they were not alone as assumed. It seemed people had survived on the surface in different ways. Some were able to get to other bunkers that withstood the blast. Some were just plain lucky. However the object had come with some odd radiation that had spread globally with the blast. They were all different and new ways of how were still being discovered.
